Welp. Looks like it's time for some Friday afternoon shenanigans. Because why not?
Firstly, for my husband and his sisters who speak so fondly of the movie Mac and Me (which I never saw as a child and don't feel like I was missing much), this compilation of Paul Rudd playing the same prank on Conan O'Brien over and over and over again.
Mila was terrified and begged me to watch something else. I laughed probably more than it deserved, but I think part of that was because Mila was so freaked out. I am a terrible mother.
This BuzzFeed list was a (fascinating) downer but hey! New-to-me Christmas music!
And speaking only marginally about Prince (You did read the list, right? Evidently he sings a Christmas song about a dead girl. Seriously.), did you hear he's going to be guest-starring in an upcoming episode of New Girl? I haven't been watching this season, but clearly I need to catch up because this is either going to be amazeballs or the TV equivalent of Nick's zombie novel, and either way I do not want to miss it.
Back to Christmas, though. I think it's too late to have one shipped by the 25th, but if someone wanted to buy me a painting of Mount Timpanogos for Christmas and just give it to me late, I wouldn't be mad. My old schoolfriend Annie painted a new Timp every day during the month of November and I love them so much. I need one. Please and thank you.
Also, speaking of both Christmas and old friends from my Utah days, my friend Sam has been blogging about each of the Christmas hymns in the LDS hymnbook. Each post is insightful and well-written and a marvelous reminder of what the season is really about.
So there you go. Something funny, something sad, something pretty, something rad...just like the old adage. Sort of. Not really. Whatever.
And I don't know what you are up to tonight but David and I are going on a date...to Las Vegas. I am on a plane right now, actually. HELLO FROM 30,000 FEET!
Of course since we don't drink and are already married, Vegas for us will probably be a lot less this:
And a lot more this:
Because David has never seen the fountains at the Bellagio in real life.
And also some of this:
Because we're only going to be there for approximately sixteen hours and, this being my first night away from Margles, I intend to sleep for at least half of it.
See you when we get back!
Thanks for the shout out, friend. Also, thanks for being a friend.
