Mr. Manager

David got a promotion!

Okay, technically he was promoted months ago and has taken on all the added responsibility that entailed, but the accompanying title change and salary increase never showed up. It seemed like his company was like, "Hey! You're really good at your job! We can depend on you! Soooo...how about you do all the work and we'll give you a secret pat on the back. We know you're the boss, and you know you're the boss, and technically you'll be doing all the work of the boss, but let's not bother with formalities, okay?" I was more than a little irritated about it all, but what can you do?

Then he came home the other night and told me his promotion had finally "been cleared" (whatever that means) and everything was official. Finally! Hooray!

In just over two years, he's gone from being the low man on the totem pole to head of his department. He works so so SO hard. AND he somehow manages to still be a fantastic dad and the best husband I could ever ask for. I'm so proud of that man I could bust.
He deserves all the naps in the world. And probably a celebratory cake, wouldn't you say?

  3. Hooray! Happy news! A cake is definitely in order. And I wonder what a cyber-friend has to do to get herself a my-husband-is-out-of-town-for-a-week-and-it-sucks-cake. ha. kidding. (you know, mostly.)

    1. So far it's mostly extra hours and lots of busy-ness, but it'll sure look good on a resume. And you know he's not going to turn down a few extra dollars. ;)
