Day 3: Kayla's Inspiration

Today Kayla picked the photo for us. Here's what she decided on:

And then my brain broke because I just do not dress like this. Maxi skirts? Graphic tees? Vests? No, no, and no. Of course we're only supposed to be inspired by the photo, not try to copy it. So here's what I finally pulled together:

 (This photo is so so awkward. I was trying to show how I'm actually wearing heels (because the grass is just too long for you to see that otherwise) but I almost fell over. Oh well.

That's right people. Jeans and a grey t-shirt. I've realized that other people : maxi skirts :: Jen : jeans. I just can't get behind the maxi thing, but you know I love me a good pair of jeans. And long untucked tees are staples in my wardrobe. I added some cute shoes and a pendant necklace so I wouldn't feel so bad about just wearing jeans and a t-shirt like I do most days. Although really, who cares? I'm a mom. This is how I roll.

And it's awesome.

Maybe not quite as awesome as this pineapple pin I inherited from my great-grandmother, but few things are.

I threw it on a long chain and called it a necklace. What up, multi-tasking accessories.
